14 bogies of Sealdah-Ajmer express train derailed near Kanpur, 40 passengers were injured. Sealdah-Ajmer Express derailed between Rura-Metha at about 5:20 AM, 50 kms from Kanpur.
Union Railway Min. Suresh Prabhu said, “Personally monitoring the situation in wake of unfortunate derailment of Sealdah-Ajmer express near Kanpur”.
Have directed senior officials to reach the site immediately. Immediate medical help being provided to the injured, Prabhu added.
Prabhu also said, “Thorough investigation will be carried out to ascertain the cause.”
