Flights to operate from Shirdi by next month

Good news for the devotees of Saibaba: Shirdi airport is almost ready and will start functioning from May.

Officials say that the airport is connected to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, among others. It is the first airfield developed and managed by the Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC) in Ahmedabad.

According to reports, Shirdi airport will initially operate domestic flights. Currently officials say that the finer details are being worked out.

The ministry of civil aviation has already sanctioned Rs 340.54 crore for the airport.
