RSS leader urges Muslims to quit gosht during Ramadan

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar has said that Muslims who are fasting during the sacred month of Ramadan should not consume ‘gosht’ ( red meat), as it is in his own words a “beemari” (disease).

“First, during Ramadan, they should plant trees in their localities, lanes, mosques and dargahs to check pollution and to protect environment. Second, they should keep Tulsi plant in their homes, because it’s called Rehan (Jannat ki Jhaad) in Arabic and isse jannat naseeb hogi,” he advised.

He further urged the Muslim community to incl ude cow milk in their sherbet. “Prophet and his family never consumed meat. They used to say meat is a disease and milk is a cure,” he added. Indresh made the statement while at the Jamia Millia Islamia University on Monday, attending an iftaar party organized by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) .
