ICC Women’s World Cup 2017: India looks to carry on winning form against West Indies

In their second match against West Indies in the 2017 Women’s World Cup on Thursday, the Indian women’s cricket team plan to carry on their winning form and take the lead in the tournament. The team began their 2017 Women’s World Cup campaign by defeating England by 35 runs and setting the tone for India’s campaign.

In a brief interview with the ICC, India captain Mithali Raj talked about her team’s preparation for the next match as well as talking about the West Indies team. The Indian captain stated that the team were preparing in the indoor nets as foul weather prevented the team from practicing outdoors.

On the West Indies opposition, Raj said that the West Indies side had plenty of talent in the team and could prove to be dangerous on their day. She talked of West Indies’ capable batting line up and also added that there was no room for complacency. The Indian captain said that it was important for the team to win the game in order to secure a place in the semi-finals.
