Tin firms up on pick up in demand

Mumbai, Aug 24 (PTI) Tin prices firmed up and aluminiumingots marginally recovered at the non-ferrous metal markethere today due to stockists buying as well as good demand fromalloy industries. While, select copper, brass and lead dropped furtherfollowing lower offtake from industrial users. Tin prices rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 1,408 from Tuesday’sclose Rs 1,405 and aluminium ingots inched up by a Re per kgto Rs 141. However, copper armature, copper sheet cuttings, brasssheet cuttings and lead edged down by Rs 2 per kg each toRs 347, Rs 341, Rs 278 and Rs 135 as against Rs 349, Rs 343,Rs 280 and Rs 137 yesterday. Copper utensils scrap and brass utensils scrap softened bya Re per kg to Rs 325 and Rs 273 respectively. PTI BPDABI
