Even as buildings in an around Omaxe City Centre at Sohna Road in Gurgaon were vacated in a frenzy, the information about a bomb being planted there turned out to be a hoax.
Gurgaon: Sohna Road, one of the busiest areas in Gurgaon is shutting down fast. The reason,was a bomb threat.
Omaxe City Centre, is where the bomb was believed to be, and a bomb disposal squad is already there looking for it. However, it turned out to be a hoax call.
Deep Chand, SHO of Sadar Police Station said, “At this point, we cannot disclose anything. We have received information from the Delhi Headquarters, but I can’t reveal more than that.”
A constable, however disclosed that they got a call from an unknown number and upon calling back, they could hear a person speaking in some form of a code language.
Team NewsMobile got hold of the number and tried calling, but the receiver began speaking in a host of unknown languages.
One eyewitness present said that a police constable walked into their office and asked them to vacate the building. It was reported that the bomb was planted inside a food joint – Haldirams.
Naresh Garg, owner of a shop called Rings and Things said, “My shop is close to Haldirams, therefore we shut shop quickly. I hope there is no damage caused.”
Spaze IT Park, right next to Haldirams, which houses several offices was also vacated post the alarm raised.
