Indore: Three private schools and the office of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava received bomb threat emails linked to Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert scheduled for November 15, police said on Monday.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya, the emails were written in Punjabi and warned school authorities against allowing students to attend the concert, threatening bomb blasts if they did so.
Following the threats, bomb disposal teams conducted searches at all three schools but found no explosives.
A similar threatening email was also received by the mayor’s office, prompting police to launch an investigation.
However, preliminary findings suggest that the messages could be hoaxes. The crime branch is examining technical evidence to identify those responsible for sending the emails.
Police said appropriate legal action would be taken once the investigation is completed.
Dandotiya also clarified that the concert organisers have not yet submitted an application seeking police permission for the November 15 event.
