Places to visit in the ‘Queen of hill stations’


The famous hill station of Ooty, famous for its landscape, the important film production scenes, the picturesque locations, vibrant mountains, cascading waterfall and a lot more. Do you feel to leave your job, go and stay there with your family, so here is a list of places to visit in Ooty:

1. Emerald Lake


Located in Emerald village, this lake is a scenic paradise for the people to visit in Ooty. The region is known as the ‘Silent Valley’ and it is 25 km away from Ooty. There are different varieties of fish in these serene waters. Especially splendid here is the sunrise and sunset. Sitting beside the lake and viewing these naturalistic splendours is a lifetime opportunity.

2. Mudumalai National Park


This place is located in the vicinity of three states Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerela. Located in the serene greenery of the Nilgiris, Mudumalai National Park is part of the Western Ghats and is one of the top Ooty places to visit.

3. Doddabetta Peak


These are located in the Nilgiri region, this mountain is the highest mountain peak in Tamil Nadu. These are located 9 km from Ooty and is the second home for all the wild animals there.

4. Nilgiri Mountain Railway


This line was built by the British in the 19th century. Originally used by Madras Railway, it is often called the Queen of Railway Stations. Located at an elevation of more than 2000 feet, this railway line is considered by many people as a marvellous feat of engineering. The train is a charming locomotive with wooden coaches draped in exotic unconventional colours.

5. Tea Factory


The Doddabetta Tea Factory is located in Ooty and covers a region of more than an acre. It is located at an elevation of 18,000 metres.
