Date:

Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Shabaash Mithu’ and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘HIT: The First Case’, both released on Friday, July 15, and had a weak box office reception.

As per reports, Rao’s ‘HIT: The First Case’ brought in Rs 1.35 crore on the first day, while the sports drama ‘Shabhaash Mithu’ only made Rs 40 lakh.

According to Taran Adarsh, film trade analyst, ‘HIT: The First Case’ made over Rs 1. 35 crores on its opening day.

“#HIT: #TheFirstCase starts on a shaky note… National chains [#PVR, #INOX, #Cinepolis] contribute to its Day 1 biz… Needs to witness miraculous growth on Day 2 and 3 to come on track… Fri Rs 1.35 cr. #India biz,” Adarsh tweeted.

The Hindi version of the 2020 Telugu blockbuster ‘HIT’ is directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the movie also stars Sanya Malhotra. The plot revolvs around a cop – Vikram, who is trapped between his commitment to his work and coping with the past trauma. The movie adds drama when a young woman, Preethi, mysteriously disappears.

Talking about Taapsee’s Shabaash Mithu,’ the movie is directed by Srijit Mukherji, it is a biographical sports-drama, based on the life of a revolutionary cricketer, Mithali Raj. It, in contrast, failed to draw the crowd to theatres on its opening day.
Box Office India report says ‘Shabaash Mithu’ only made  only Rs. 40 Lakh on its opening day.
