10 panchaloha idols unearthed

Thanjavur (TN), Aug 28 (PTI) Ten panchaloha (made of fivemetals) idols, including a 2.5-foot one of Lord Shiva, wereunearthed by workers while digging trenches to lay waterpipelines near a temple at Peravoorani here, officials said. The workers found the idols at a depth of five feet whiledigging trenches near the Sri Samantha Swamy temple, they said. Tahsildhar Raghu Nathan rushed to the spot on receivinginformation last evening, seized the idols and sent them to thetreasury, the officials said.
