7 of family killed in cloudburst in U’khand

Dehradun, Aug 20 (PTI) Seven members of a family werekilled when their house was razed to the ground by hugeboulders that rolled down the hill following a cloudburst inPauri district of Uttarakhand today. The cloudburst occurred at around seven in the evening atMarchula village of the district following which pebbles andboulders rolling down the hillside fell over a house razing itto the ground, Pauri District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Bhatttold PTI on the phone. Seven persons of the family were killed on the spot andtwo were injured, he said. The injured were taken to Pauri for treatment, he said. The house was inhabited by 75-year-old Dipak Singh andthe families of his two sons, the DM said, adding that furtherdetails were awaited. The Pauri-Srinagar highway was also blocked due to thecloudburst, officials said. PTI ALMSMN
