Bharat Biotech Calls Reports On Submitting Phase 3 Trial Data To WHO ‘Incorrect’

Date:

The makers of India’s only homemade vaccine against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Bharat Biotech on Thursday clarified that news reports on submitting Phase-3 data to the World Health Organisation (WHO) is incorrect and lacks any evidence.

”The news reports on Bharat Biotech submitting Phase-3 data to WHO is incorrect and lacks any evidence,” the vaccine manufacturer said in a tweet.

The clarification came following media reports suggesting that the vaccine manufacturer has submitted its phase-3 clinical trial results to the WHO for clearance.

Bharat Biotech’s pre-submission meeting has been scheduled on June 23 for evaluation of the WHO’s Emergency Use Listing (EUL) of its indigenous vaccine Covaxin, reported ANI.

The Hyderabad-based vaccine manufacturer last month had submitted 90% of the documentation needed for WHO’s Emergency Use Listing. It had further said that the rest of the documents would be submitted this month.

Covaxin is among three vaccines currently being administered in India against the COVID-19 pandemic.
