Date:

Naidu New Delhi, Aug 26 (PTI) A day after Rahul Gandhi said hestood by his remarks on RSS over Mahatma Gandhi’s killing,Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today accused the Congress ofraking up needless controversies for reaping political gainsand being "soft" on terrorists and hard on nationalists. He said the BJP will keep fighting Congress’ "hatefulagenda" and said the opposition party has no moral right topoint an accusing finger at the BJP or RSS after havingpractised "divisive and vote-bank" politics all these years. "The recent remarks of Congress Vice-President RahulGandhi attacking the RSS clearly shows that the party isobsessed with raking up needless controversies with theintention of reaping political dividends. The Congress alwaysremained soft on terrorists and hard on nationalists," hesaid. "With the kind divisive and vote-bank politics it haspursued the Congress has no right to criticize the BJP. Let memake it clear, the BJP will never stop fighting the hatefuland divisive agenda of the Congress," Naidu added. The Minister said the Congress party never sincerelytried to promote social and communal harmony in the countryand only practiced its trademark politics of "divisiveness andappeasement." "It is unfortunate that such politics of appeasement onlyresulted in widening the divide between minorities and themajority rather than bringing cohesiveness in the society," hesaid.
