Constable rapes girl, suspended

Ashoknagar (MP), Aug 31 (PTI) A 17-year-old girl fromhere was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a police constablewho took her to Guna district, an official said today. "Constable Yogendra Raghuvanshi, who was known to thevictim, a resident of Ashok Nagar, took her along with himunder the pretext of dropping her to school after she missedher bus. He took her to Guna district where he raped her,"said Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh Gaur. The girl returned home last evening and narrated herordeal, following which she and her father approached Kotwalipolice station. A case was registered against Raghuvanshi undersections 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of IPC last night. Raghuvanshi, posted at police line, was suspended andefforts are on to trace him, the officer added. PTI COR LALMASNSK
