CRPF CO, Addl SP, DSP among 18 injured in militant attack

Srinagar, Aug 24 (PTI) A CRPF Commandant, an AdditionalSP and a DSP of the Jammu and Kashmir police were among 18security personnel injured in a militant attack today inPulwama town, about 32 kms from here, police said. Militants hurled a grenade, followed by firing, atsecurity personnel who were on duty near the Degree College inPulwama town, a police official said. Officials said 18 security personnel including CommandingOfficer of CRPF’s 183rd battalion Vijay Anand Prakash, as alsoan additional SP, a DSP and a local SHO were injured in theattack. Among the injured were eleven CRPF personnel and all theinjured were rushed to the Pulwama district hospital, theofficial said. The militants fled from the spot after carrying out theattack. In a similar attack on August 15, CRPF Commandant PramodKumar was killed in a militant gunfire in the Nowhatta area ofSrinagar. PTI MIJ NESAKK
