First ‘Made In India’ Drishti 10 Medium Altitude Drone Unveiled


Hyderabad: Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar unveiled the Drishti 10 Starliner Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) on Wednesday. The flag-off ceremony took place at Adani Aerospace Park in Hyderabad. This marks a significant milestone in indigenous UAV development, reinforcing the strides taken by the Indian Navy in advancing technology.

This cutting-edge UAV is the inaugural creation of Adani Defence and Aerospace.

On Drishti 10 Starliner drones manufactured by Adani Defence, LT Gen Ajay Kumar Suri, DG, Indian Army Aviation, said, “Initially, we have ordered two Drishti 10s and we are looking at a time span of 2-3 months when they will be delivered. It will improve the surveillance capabilities of the Indian Army. It is indigenised, almost 70% of it is indigenised…”

Drishti 10 ‘Starliner’ boasts a cutting-edge Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capability, offering an impressive 36-hour endurance, a payload capacity of 450 kg, unique STANAG 4671 certification for all-weather military operations, and the flexibility to navigate both segregated and unsegregated airspace.

Designed for medium altitudes with limited endurance, this aircraft boasts an operational range extending to 1000 miles. Its primary focus lies in bolstering maritime operations, particularly in combating piracy and enhancing missions at sea.

Vice President of Adani Enterprises, Jeet Adani, said, “…What you see here, this entire platform is more than 70%-80% indigenised, which means everything is manufactured in this facility that you see over here, along with the vendor ecosystem that we’ve developed over the last twelve months.”
