Man dies in bike-car collision in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 22 (PTI) A 24-year-old man riding amotorcycle without a helmet was today killed after his bikecollided with a car in southeast Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur areahere, police said. Maqsood Ali was on his way to his residence at Lal Kuan inPrahladpur from Sangam Vihar around 7 AM when the incident tookplace. Maqsood had jumped a red light when his bike collided withBhiwan Singh’s car, said a senior police officer, adding thateven though Maqsood’s family members are claiming that he hadtaken a helmet with him, no helmet was recovered from the spot. The man sustained severe head injuries and was rushed toESI Hospital by locals where he was declared brought dead, theofficer said. Singh was arrested from the spot. A case under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on apublic way) and 304(A)(causing death by negligence) wasregistered against Singh. PTI VIT DIP RGDIP
