Mercury hovers around normal in Pb, Haryana

Chandigarh, Aug 17 (PTI) Maximum temperatures todayhovered around normal level in most parts of Punjab andHaryana. Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana,recorded maximum at 33.5 degrees Celsius, the MeT departmentsaid. In Haryana, Ambala recorded maximum temperature of 31.7degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while Hisar andKarnal registered maximum temperatures of 37.7 and 30.2degrees Celsius, respectively. The maximum temperature in Amritsar settled at 35.4degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala registeredmaximum temperatures of 34.6 and 33.2 degrees Celsius,respectively. Hisar recorded 5 mm of rainfall followed by Ludhianawhich received 1.4 mm of rain. The Met department has predicted light rain at isolatedplaces in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow. PTI CHS FAR ZMNSRY
