Mother House celebrates canonisation of Mother Teresa

Kolkata, Sep 4 (PTI) With loud rounds of applause,prayers and special mass, hundreds of faithful including alarge number of foreigners, today celebrated the canonisationof Mother Teresa. At Mother House, headquarters of the Missionaries ofCharity, three large screens were put up where hundreds ofnuns and Teresa followers gathered to watch the ceremonybroadcast live. Another screen was also put up outside the quarters forgeneral public. Since morning the House was kept open for public asvisitors came throughout the day to pay their respects to thelate Roman Catholic nun at her tomb. When she was declared Saint by Pope Francis in Vatican,nuns and visitors erupted in joy with a loud round of applauseand cheering for the ‘Blessed Teresa of Calcutta’. In the morning there was special mass at 6 am tocelebrate the day. Nuns decorated the House with a large portrait of Teresahanging from the wall above the screen.
