Kolkata: Calcutta HC on Wednesday cancelled all OBC certificates issued by the state from 2011 to 2024. The decision of the HC has caused an uproar and it is to be noted that the Calcutta High Court has announced a 14-year sentence in the OBC reservation case. A division bench of Justice Tapobrata Chakraborty and Justice Rajashekhar Manthar announced this verdict.
The High Court said that all OBC reservation lists after 2010 have been cancelled. The list of OBCs registered before 2010 is maintained. So far all those who have got jobs in the OBC reservation list or are in the recruitment process will get jobs in the old reservation list Apart from this, a new reservation list has to be published.
In short, from today there is no such thing as OBC in the state. The new OBC reservation list will be implemented in the state after it is prepared by the 1993 Act. However, it has been assured by the court that those who have already got jobs in the OBC reservation list, none of them will lose their jobs. Those who are in the recruitment process will also get jobs. All OBC certificates issued between 2011-24 are cancelled! The High Court gave a huge verdict.
