Private tutor arrested for killing student’s mother

Bhubaneswar, Aug 26 (PTI) A private tutor was todayarrested on charge of allegedly killing a student’s mother ata coaching centre in the state capital here. The incident took place last night when the student’smother P Sheela Jaya went to the coaching centre to enquireabout her child’s academic progress. The police said she had an exchange of words with theteacher identified as Rasmiranjan Sahoo and in a fit of angerSahoo allegedly strangulated her. "Prelimnary investigations reveal that Jaya dieddue to strangulation. However, we are waiting for the postmortem report," Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said. Jaya, a resident of BJB Nagar in the city hadyesterday gone to the coaching centre in her car. The police said after the incident, Sahoo called thewoman’s driver, who was standing outside the coachingcentre, and told him that Jaya had become unconscious. Chandrasekharpur police reached the spot when the duowas about to take Jaya to hospital in the car. The policeadmitted her to Capital Hospital where doctors declared herdead. PTI AAMMM
