New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday intensified his challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an open debate, launching a poll on X asking young Indians whether they wanted to see the two leaders face off.
Gandhi tagged senior BJP leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging them to convince the Prime Minister to accept his challenge.
“Youth of India, Do you want to see a Rahul Gandhi vs Narendra Modi open debate? rajnathsingh ji, nitin_gadkari ji, ChouhanShivraj ji, myogiadityanath ji – you always have the PM’s best interest in mind, please convince him to come,” Gandhi posted.
Youth of India,
Do you want to see a Rahul Gandhi vs Narendra Modi open debate?
@rajnathsingh ji, @nitin_gadkari ji, @ChouhanShivraj ji, @myogiadityanath ji – you always have the PM’s best interest in mind, please convince him to come.

The poll offered two options: “Yes – Modi Ji, Daro Mat” and “No – Modi Ji, Dar Gaye”.
The latest post followed Gandhi’s renewed challenge to Modi to debate allegations concerning foreign connections. He suggested the discussion could take place at any venue, with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat even serving as judge.
“It’s been 24 hours since I challenged you, Modi ji,” Gandhi wrote earlier, urging the Prime Minister to debate him before the media and the youth.
Gandhi proposed discussing the financial system, the US deal, why it was concluded quickly without informing the Cabinet, the Adani case, Epstein and other issues.
“Let the truth come out. Let everything be crystal clear,” he said.
He also challenged Modi to file a defamation case over his allegations, saying he was already facing around 45 such cases.
The confrontation follows Gandhi’s allegations that Modi became and remained Prime Minister with foreign assistance and that India’s financial system was controlled and supported by foreign forces.
The exchange comes after Modi, addressing Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, criticised the Opposition for allegedly acting as an obstructionist force. Modi also alleged that certain forces were conspiring to divide the country and questioned their engagements abroad and alleged backing from foreign forces.
