Rehabilitation Drive In Violence-Hit Manipur; Temporary Houses For Displaced Victims | In Pics

Date:

New Delhi: As thousands of people have been displaced in the violence-hit Manipur, the state government has launched a rehabilitation drive.

In the latest pictures accessed by NewsMobile, the government is building temporary houses for those displaced by the violence.

These visuals are of the houses being constructed at Sajiwa and families would be shifted here in a few days.

Sources say similar structural houses are being constructed at Yaithibi Loukol in Thoubal and Kwakta in Bishnupur district.

Not only in Sajiwa but similar pre-fabricated houses are also being built at Yaithibi Loukol in Thoubal district and Kwakta in Bishnupur district. The construction at these sites is progressing well, and the houses are expected to be ready soon, providing much-needed relief to the displaced families.

This comes after Supreme Court’s direction to the state government to prioritise rehabilitation measures.

Meanwhile, surveys for building such houses have been conducted at Sawombung in Imphal East district.

In New Delhi, ruckus continues in the Parliament over the Manipur violence as the opposition demand discussion. However, the centre has agreed to hold a short-duration discussion, on the issue, not exceeding more than two hours, under Rule 176, which the Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A bloc is objecting saying they want a “full meal discussion” and not just a toast and butter discussion of one-two hours.
