Ayodhya: The Ram temple trust has extended invitations to 7,000 people, including cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, and billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple, sources revealed on Wednesday.
Actors Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia, famous for playing Lord Ram and Sita in the iconic TV serial “Ramayan,” are also among the invitees to the event scheduled for January 22, 2024.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already received an invitation.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has dispatched invitations to 7,000 people, with 3,000 categorized as VVIPs, for the consecration. The families of kar sevaks who were killed in the police firing in Ayodhya will be included in the ceremony, as per sources.
Among the VVIPs are RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Yoga guru Ramdev, and industrialists Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata, and Gautam Adani, sources said.
The trust has extended invitations to 4,000 seers from various parts of the country.
Champat Rai, the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, stated, “Efforts are being made to invite representatives from 50 countries for the consecration ceremony.” “Family members of the 50 kar sevaks who lost their lives during the Ram temple movement have also been invited. Invitations have also been sent to judges, scientists, writers and poets,” he added.
Invitations have also been extended to saints, priests, Shankaracharya, religious leaders, former civil servants, retired Army officers, lawyers, musicians, and recipients of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.
