Six injured in clash over land dispute

Bahraich (UP), Aug 29 (PTI) Tension prevailed in Bahraichdistrict as two groups clashed over a land dispute leaving sixinjured. Former village head Yaqoob along with his supportersclashed with sitting head Vinod Verma and his accomplices overthe gram sabha land in Nandwal village yesterday. The agitating groups indulged in brick batting andfiring. They also torched four shops in the area,Superintendent of Police Salik Ram Verma said today. Cross FIRs have been lodged against 61 persons from boththe sides, of which 24 have been arrested, the SP said. He said that an attempt was made to give a communalcolour to the incident, but the situation was controlled bythe police immediately.
