Statue of Mary desecrated in TN church

Udhagamandalam, Aug 26 (PTI) A statue of Mary wastoday found desecrated at St Mary’s Church in Gudalur heretoday, police said. Miscreants had tarnished the face of the statue withslush and blackened other parts. Some flower pots were alsofound damaged in the premises of the church. Forensic and finger print experts had beenrequisitioned and investigations were on to nab the miscreantsinvolved in the incident, which came to light when the churchwas opened in the morning for prayers, police said.
