‘No Terror Angle, Probing All Aspects’, Says Devendra Fadnavis On Boat Found With 3 Ak-47s, Bullets

Raigad: An unidentified boat was found at Harihareshwar Beach and a lifeboat found at Bharadkhol with arms, explosives, and documents in the Raigad district of Maharashtra on Thursday.

Security has been tightened in Maharashtra’s Raigad district and nearby areas after a suspected boat with weapons near Harihareshwar Beach.

According to local police officials, no person was present in the boat but some arms, including an AK-47, and ammunition were found. Following the development, a team of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) was rushed to the spot.

The local police’s investigation is currently underway, “I’ve demanded Deputy Chief Minister to urgently appoint special team of ATS or State Agency” said Aditi Tatkare, MLA, Shrivardhan (Raigad).

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that “There is no confirmation of any terror angle” and added that “the boat belongs to an Australian citizen. Boat’s engine broke out in the sea, people were rescued by a Korean boat. It has now reached Harihareshwar beach. Keeping in mind the coming festive season, police & administration have been instructed to be prepared.”
