Temporary Flight Suspension At Delhi Airport From 10:20 AM To 12:45 PM Until Republic Day

The central government has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) announcing a temporary suspension of flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport from 10:20 am to 12:45 pm until Republic Day on January 26. This annual measure is part of heightened security protocols preceding the Republic Day festivities.

India is set to mark its 75th Republic Day, with French President Emmanuel Macron serving as the chief guest. This occasion marks the sixth time a French leader has been honored as the guest of the Republic Day parade.

Breaking tradition, the Border Security Force (BSF) will showcase all-women marching and brass band contingents during this year’s Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path. Led by an Assistant Commandant rank woman officer and two subordinate officers, 144 women BSF constables will participate in the event attended by President Macron.

Ahead of Republic Day, Delhi police have intensified vigilance in the national capital. A mock drill at Akshardham Temple, simulating a terrorist attack scenario, was conducted by Delhi East District Police as part of preparedness efforts. This exercise aimed to evaluate the force’s response readiness and enhance overall security preparedness.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024 will witness the participation of 2,274 cadets from all 28 states and eight Union Territories. Notably, this year’s camp boasts the highest-ever participation of girl cadets, with 907 girls contributing to the month-long event.
