Trader shot during robbery attempt

Vadodara, Aug 25 (PTI) Unknown persons tried to rob atrader and shot him near the Khodiyarnagar locality here latelast night, police said today. Inspector R S Bhagora of Kishanwadi police station saidManoj Lakhani, who runs a shop, was hit by a bullet in thestomach. He was rushed to a private hospital where hiscondition was said to be critical. Lakhani and his wife were returning home on a scooterafter locking up their shop for the day. Two persons who cameup on a bike tried to snatch a bag containing Rs 15,000 fromLakhani. When Lakhani did not let go the bag, one of them firedtwo rounds at him and then fled. Leena Patil, assistant commissioner of police, and otherofficials rushed to the spot. Further probe is on. PTI CorKRK
