Youth arrested for smuggling cows

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 19 (PTI) A youth was arrested forallegedly smuggling cows for slaughter in Budhana town, policesaid today. SHO D K Tyagi said police seized three cows and arrestedRahul, the truck’s owner. Some knives and an axe were also seized from the accused,he said. Police said the truck was stopped by locals last nightafter they suspected cows were being smuggled. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against sevenpersons in connection with slitting of a man’s throat overcattle dispute in Jalalabad on Wednesday. The condition of the victim, Man Singh, is still serious,police said, adding they are yet to make any arrests. PTI CORRANB RTGVS
