FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

Performing a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes the NM team identified a YouTube channel carrying a similar video on March 24, 2023. The description of the video reads: “Absolutely INSANE Table Tennis Defense from Yang Wang!”. But in this video, Wang can be seen competing against a human and not a robot.

Searching further, we came across the same video of a robot engaged in a table tennis match with a human. This video was posted by a TikTok user with the handle ‘animatronic3D’. The user’s bio section reads, “Showing the world how AI+ Robots will change our world”.

Several other similar videos featuring digitally-created robot videos can be found on this platform.

Thus, it is confirmed that a digitally-created video is falsely shared as a robot defeating a human in a table tennis match.
