Fact Check: Does This Video Show Yogi Adityanath Thrown Out Of Bageshwar Dham? Here’s The Truth

The video of a man creating a ruckus in front of policemen and being thrown out of a gathering is widely shared on social media, claiming that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thrown out of Bageshwar Dham.

The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “बागेश्वर धाम सरकार (ढोगी बाबा ) को योगी आदित्यनाथ जाच के दिए निर्देश || तो योगी आदित्यनाथ के साथ क्या हुआ” (English translation: Instructions given by Yogi Adityanath to Bageshwar Dham Sarkar (Dhogi Baba) || so what happened to Yogi Adityanath)

Here’s the link to the above post.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING.

Performing a Reverse Image Search, we traced a news report carrying glimpses of the viral video on January 24, 2023. According to reports, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had reached Niwari district to attend a programme. Then a person who looked like Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came and sat on the front seat in the programme. The police asked the person to get up from there and sit behind. Later he had an argument with the police.

According to a report published in Hindustan Live on January 23, 2023, the man is a resident of Prithvipur in the Niwari district. The name of the person is Dilip Kumar Jain, who looks very similar to Chief Minister Yogi.

We also found the full video on the official YouTube channel of Navbharat Times on January 24, 2023. Here also, the person seen in the viral video has been described as a lookalike of Chief Minister Adityanath.

Thus, it is clear that an unrelated video is falsely shared as Yogi Adityanath being thrown out of Bageshwar Dham.
