Fact Check: Don’t believe this FALSE post about missing girl found in Hyderabad

A picture of a crying girl at a railway station is being shared on social media. The caption claims that she was found at Hyderabad railway station.

“This girl is found in Hyderabad rly station kindly circulate so that girl join the parents, ” the caption read.

FACT CHECK 

When NewsMobile fact-checked the picture, we found out that it’s an old photograph.

On putting the Image through Reverse Image Search, we found that the girl in this picture is Avani Jain.

In 2016, she got lost at the Nagpur railway platform. Soon, her picture went viral on Facebook and was shared extensively on WhatsApp.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the authorities were able to trace Avani’s mother and relatives within 20 minutes of the picture going viral. ‘
