Fact Check: Letter Asking Hindus To Entrap Muslim Girls Falsely Attributed To RSS

Date:

An alleged letter circulating on social media, attributed to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), suggests a conspiracy involving the RSS in enticing Muslim women to convert to Hinduism.

The purported letter advises Hindu men on tactics to gain the trust of Muslim girls, establish a relationship, and eventually compel them to embrace Hinduism. According to the letter, the RSS outlines a 15-day training programme for Hindu men on the art of ensnaring Muslim girls. It also claims that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has set an annual target of converting one million girls to Hinduism.

The caption with the letter reads: “The attached letter circulating on Social Media is from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, providing instructions in Hindi on converting Muslim girls to Hinduism. Seems like it’s a part of the secret project “Bhagwa Love Trap”, a conspiracy against Muslims, particularly Muslim females.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, and found it to be misleading.

To our surprise, we noticed the X handle @ShriRamTeerth_, which shares the letter in question, is a ‘parody’ account of the Ram Janambhoomi Trust.

The official X handle of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra — the trust constituted to look after the construction and management of Ayodhya Ram Temple — is @ShriRamTeerth.

Our team could not find any news reports corroborating the existence of an open letter from the RSS targeting Muslim women. Even the X and Facebook accounts of the RSS have not carried such a letter.

However, while scanning through the social media handles of the RSS, we came across several official press statements from the RSS which can be seen here, here, and here.

A notable distinction arises when comparing the images of these official press statements with the purported RSS letter circulated in the post. It becomes evident that the logo utilised in the alleged letter differs from the official RSS logo featured in its press statements.

It is also to be noted that all the press notes by RSS have been signed by an authority, however, the letter in question has not been signed by anyone.

Hence, in conclusion, the above findings establish that the letter has been falsely attributed to the RSS, claiming that the organisation is encouraging Hindu men to entrap Muslim women for conversion to Hinduism.
