NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the tweet to be fake.
Firstly, we looked for media reports regarding any such statement made by Caralisa Monteiro but couldn’t find any credible report to support the claim.
We examined the tweet and realised that the in the fake viral tweet, the device/platform from where the tweet has been made was missing.
We then scanned through the Twitter handle of the singer and ran an advance Twitter Search but did not find any such tweet posted on January 1.
Moreover, we also found that replying to once such Twitter post, the singer herself clarified that the screengrab of the tweet is fake.
Hence, from the above fact check, it is clear that the screengrab of the viral tweet is morphed.
