NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be baseless and false.
Refuting the claim, WhatsApp officials confirmed exclusively to NewsMobile that the claim in circulation is fake.
The message started circulating in the wake of the recent privacy policies introduced by the instant messaging platform, which triggered a huge flow of misinformation regarding the messaging tool on social media.
WhatsApp also took to Twitter and clarified that their latest policy change does not affect the privacy of messages. It states that WhatsApp cannot see users’ private messages.

WhatsApp, in their privacy policy, explained that messages, photos, and account information, is never shared onto Facebook or any of other apps.
It further stated that the application has end-to-end encryption and other security features. The app doesn’t store users’ messages once they’ve been delivered.
