Doing a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team traced an X post carrying the same video, dated June 29, 2023, with a caption: “#IndiaOut”.
Searching further with the keyword ‘IndiaOut Campaign’, we found a report by Scroll, dated July 01, 2023, carrying the same tweet and same visual.
The title reads: “After ‘India Out’ protests, the Maldives government issues condemnation.”
Also, a YouTube video by FirstPost, dated July 20, 2023, carries visuals similar to the viral clip, with a caption: “Maldives: Why Ex-President Abdulla Yameen Is Reviving “India Out” Campaign|Vantage with Palki Sharma.”
Hence, it is clear from the above findings that the video in question is quite old.
