Fact Check: Comments On Asia Cup Final 2023 Falsely Attributed To Late Andrew Symonds

After India’s one-sided victory over Sri Lanka in the final of Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday, a quote attributed to former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds surfaced on Internet, in which he had expressed his doubts about the way the Sri Lankan team had played.

The post reads: Andrew Symonds on 🇮🇳 vs 🇱🇰 today: “The way SL turned up today, it seems like some sort of arrangement was already made behind the scenes… to see a team that has reached the finals play in this manner raises quite a few questions, but maybe we should keep quiet and not upset the ACC & BCCI.” Brutal honesty by Symonds

The above post can be seen here.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, and found it to be MISLEADING.
