Using the InVid Tool, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a Reverse Image Search with relevant keywords. This search directed us to a news article that carried similar visuals stating that this incident is from Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
The article reads: “A head constable and two of his colleagues have been suspended in Agra. After raiding the three policemen posted at Hariparvat police station inside a cafe, they shot a video of young men and women in an objectionable condition. This young woman kept pleading but the policemen did not listen. After this video went viral, the three policemen have been suspended.” This article does not mention anything about the religion of the men or women, as claimed in the caption.
