FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a similar video on an unverified YouTube channel, dated March 11, 2024. The video matches with the viral clip, informing that it’s a bullock cart race in Karnataka’s Belagavi district.
Searching further, we found an Instagram video on another unverified handle, dated March 10, 2024. However, Gandhi entered Maharashtra on March 12, 2024, for his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. So, it cannot be linked to the viral clip.
We also came across a livestream video of the event on the official Facebook page of InNews. Here too, we can see that many elements of this video match with the viral clip. Although we couldn’t find the original source of the viral clip, we can say with surety that the video has nothing to do with Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming a huge crowd gathered to attend Rahul Gandhi at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Maharashtra, is false.
