A video of Donald Trump, saying: “144,000 Black people with superpower godlike abilities” are the “chosen ones”, is being widely circulated on social media.
The Facebook post reads: “I see it all sighing Trump, is he getting scared? 😅😂🪽👨👩👧🪽Chosen People 🪽👨👩👧🪽They know that this is God the chosen people, and this is their land. And 144,000 have already woken up regaining memories and soon they will have their powers, when this solar flash hits, the cabal won’t know what to do, these are the first fruits. The 144,000 are Sealed and Awake, the Elect are already Awake and are acquiring all their memories, this means a bad deal for them, the cabal won’t know what to do, they know what’s going on. Upon closer examination, it was observed that Trump’s lip movements did not match the audio in the viral clip. To check the authenticity of the audio, we proceeded to analyze the clip using technical methods. Of the five evaluation models employed by DeepFake-O-Meter, all indicated the presence of AI-generated sound, strongly suggesting that the audio track in the video was a deepfake.
Searching further, we identified the 2017 NBC interview featuring Trump during his presidency with a title: “President Donald Trump On His Firing Of James Comey (Extended Exclusive) | NBC Nightly News.”
In both the videos below, President Trump appears in identical attire, within the same setting, and from the same angle.
Moreover, at the 12:37 mark in the NBC interview uploaded on YouTube on May 11, 2017, Trump’s facial expression matches with the viral video.
Contrary to the allegation, Trump did not make any reference to this number during the conversation with NBC host Lester Holt. Trump discussed topics such as the Russia probe and his decision to dismiss then-FBI Director James Comey.
Searching with key phrases like ‘Donald Trump’ and ‘144,000 Black people with superpower godlike abilities’, we could not find any credible source reporting Trump uttering those words.
Hence, it is clear that the old video is digitally altered and the audio is AI-generated.
