No, the man in the picture is not Yogi Adityanath’s brother

Date:

A photo has gone viral on social media in which a tea vendor can be seen and it has been claimed that the man in the picture is Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s brother.

The caption of the picture read: “उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री आदरणीय योगी जी के भाई हैं जो चाय का दुकान चला रहे है, कांग्रेस के कोई भी बड़े नेता का भाई इस तरह का हो तो जरूर पोस्ट कीजिएगा।

(Translation: He’s the brother of respectable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Ji who is running a tea shop, if any of the senior Congress leaders have such a brother then surely  post.)

At the time of filing, the above post has more than 26,000 shares.

FACT CHECK

When the fact-checker team at NewsMobile checked the post, we found that the claim is FAKE.

On putting the keyphrases like ‘Yogi Adityanath’s brother’ and ‘Yogi Adityanath family’, we found a video on ABP’s official YouTube channel.

In the video, Yogi Adityanath’s two out of three brothers can be seen.

On further digging, we found that his youngest brother is a subedar in the Indian Army posted at China border.

Hence, it proves that the man in the viral video looks nowhere close to any of his brothers.
