BJP ready to debate on the DDCA issue: Dharmendra Pradhan

Date:

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ready on debate on the DDCA issue said Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday and alleged that the congress wants to hide themselves from the National Herald case as they were demanding Jaitley’s resignation in Lok Sabha on Monday.

“No one is running away from this DDCA issue. Yesterday this issue was raised in the Lok Sabha by congress deputy chief Venugopal ji and it was answered by the Finance Minister. Then who is running? Why didn’t the debate it further? We want the debate should take place. There is no other issue with congress. They want to hide themselves from National Herald case. They just want to create ruckus without any discussion,” Pradhan told the media here.

Rejecting the charges against him in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) controversy as ‘baseless and devoid of truth’, finance minister Arun Jaitley on Monday claimed the opposition Congress had spent much more than he did in renovating a stadium in Delhi.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Kirti Azad told the House the Congress should stop disrupting proceedings, and instead “demand a time-bound SIT-monitored probe” into the DDCA row.

Earlier on Monday, Jaitley filed a defamation suit in a Delhi court against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Party leaders for issuing allegedly false and defamatory statements against him and his family members in the DDCA row
