BSP MLA: 51 crore award for Charlie Hebdo attackers

Date:

New Delhi: When the world is condemning the Paris attack, Bahujan Samaj Party former MLA Yakoob Qureshi on Thursday triggered a new controversy when he announced a reward of Rs 51 crore to the attackers of French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo.

Gunmen on Wednesday opened fire and shot down at least 10 journalists and two policemen in Charlie Hebdo’s Paris office.

As the gunmen left the scene, they exchanged fire with police officers, killing one, before fleeing in a car. The car was later found in the nearby 19th district, in north-eastern Paris.

French anti-terror police launched a late-night raid in a northeastern city on Wednesday in a frantic manhunt for the masked gunmen who shouted “Allahu akbar” while they attacked the newspaper office in Paris, sparking global outrage.
