Content editor of ‘Congress Darshan’ sacked

Date:

In the latest development, Sudhir Joshi, the content editor of ‘Congress Darshan’, has been sacked following the controversy over criticism of former prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and party president Sonia Gandhi in the mouthpiece.

Sanjay Nirupam, the editor-in-chief of the journal, earlier today apologised and said that action would be taken against the people responsible in the editorial team.

On its 131st foundation day, Congress faced a major embarrassment and a foot in mouth scenario with the party party’s Mumbai mouthpiece India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru for the state of affairs in Kashmir, China and Tibet while also criticising its current president Sonia Gandhi.

Congress Mumbai chief Sanjay Nirupam on Monday apologised for criticism of former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and party president Sonia Gandhi in party mouthpiece ‘Congress Darshan’, and said that action would be taken against the people responsible in the editorial team.

“Some words that have been used in some articles of ‘Congress Darshan’ are certainly objectionable. I accept the mistake. Action will be taken against people in editorial team who are responsible for this mistake,” Nirpuam said.

In the December issue of ‘Congress Darshan’, questions are raised on the decision of party icon and India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, for the state of affairs in Kashmir, China and Tibet.

The article clearly states that Nehru should have listened to freedom fighter and former home minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s views on international affairs.

It also criticised Sonia Gandhi and said her father was a fascist soldier
