Delhi Court quashes plea seeking FIR against V.K Singh

Date:

A Delhi Court on Monday dismissed a criminal complaint seeking lodging of an FIR against Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd.) V.K. Singh for his dog analogy.

Earlier in the day, the government appealed to the opposition to stop politicising General (Retd.) Singh’s remark and said that the matter was now over since he has apologised in this regard.

“This issue is being repeated and escalated unnecessarily as he has reiterated time and again that in no way he wanted to hurt or insult any section of the society with his statement. But we can’t help it if the people want to keep this issue alive for political reasons,” Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

Meanwhile, the Congress, led by party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, protested against the former army chief outside the Parliament today and demanded his resignation.
