Chandigarh, Aug 29 (PTI) President Pranab Mukherjee hashonoured five players and a coach from Haryana with nationalawards for their outstanding performances at a function on theoccasion of National Sports Day in New Delhi today, the stateAssembly was informed. Haryana Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij told theongoing Monsoon session of Vidhan Sabha wrestler Sakshi Malikof Rohtak has been honoured with Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna. She won Bronze medal in wrestling in the Rio Olympics. Rani Rampal, hockey player from Rohtak; Vinesh Phogat,women wrestler from Bhiwani; Amit Kumar, wrestler from Rohtak;and Virender Singh, Paralympics wrestler from Jhajjar havebeen honoured with Arjuna Award. Wrestling Coach Mahavir Singh of Bhiwani has beenhonoured with the Dronacharya Award. Vij said it is a matter of pride for the state. While Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award carries Rs 7.50 lakhin cash and a medal, Arjuna Award and Dronacharya Award carryRs five lakh in cash and a certificate of appreciation. PTICHSTIR
