IPL 2023: Kolkata Knight Riders To Lock Horns With Royal Challengers Bangalore

Date:

Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders will look to bounce back at their maiden home match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the iconic venue of Eden Gardens on Thursday.

Skipper Nitish Rana will be looking to get his side back on track after suffering a loss in the opening game of the campaign against Punjab Kings.

KKR needs major contributions at the start of the innings from Mandeep Singh and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. As KKR managed to rope in opening sensation Jason Roy as a replacement, the side will be looking to make an impact with the bat.

The batting line-up of the Knights will need a performance from Andre Russel who was dismissed in the last game.

Faf du Plessis-led RCB will be looking to continue their top form and dominate the game with both bat and bowl.

Opener Virat Kohli and Faf forged a powerful partnership of 148 runs in the opening match leading to an easy win by 8 wickets against Mumbai Indians.

Eden Gardens will be expected to have a batting friendly nature and is likely to favour the sides throughout the innings.

After Topley’s injury in the last game during fielding, David Willey is likely to replace him in the match.
