PSG- Barcelona game to be replayed as the petition reaches 1 million signatures

Date:

It was hailed as one of the biggest comebacks in football history when Barcelona scored 6 goals(3 of them in injury time) to overcome a 5 goal aggregate of PSG.

Luis Suarez was at the receiving end of football fans ire on social media as they accused him of diving in the penalty area resulting in Neymar Penalty.

Within hours of this result, a fan filed a petition on Change.org seeking people’s signatures on the match to be replayed. With the declaration of the last 8 fixtures, it was clear no such thing was going to happen.

But in a bizarre stream of events , following the petition’s 1 million signatures, FIFA disqualified Referee Deniz Aytekin’s controversial decisions and he has been  removed from all remaining matches of the Champions League. FIFA has now instructed UEFA for the match to be replayed in Camp Nou with PSG maintaining the same 4-0 aggregate, and if PSG are able to prevent the upset this time they will face Juventus in place of Barcelona.

This came as a surprise to many as no such petition has ever been approved by the Football governing body. The match will be played in the first week before the quarterfinals , the date for which will be announced later.
