Haryana: Internet Services To Remain Shut In Nuh From Sep 17 to 19

Date:

Nuh: Internet services in the Nuh district will be temporarily suspended from September 17th to 19th due to concerns regarding potential disruptions to public services and the maintenance of law and order.

The decision, as communicated in a letter from the Haryana Home Ministry, is a preventive measure aimed at curbing the spread of inflammatory content and false information through the internet, SMS, and social media platforms.

There will be a ban on all SMS services, including 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, CDMA, and GPRS, in mobile internet services.

Except for banking and mobile recharge, all dongle services will remain closed from 6 pm on September 17 to 12 midnight on September 19, 2023, the letter said.

Earlier, clashes between two groups broke out in Nuh on July 31 after a religious procession passing through the district was attacked, in which six people, including two Home Guards, were killed and around 20 policemen were injured in the frenzy of violence that followed.
